How does one go to school to be a visual artist and end up as an automotive journalist? Elana Scherr maps out her long and winding road to becoming the first female full-time staff editor at HOT ROD Magazine and onto becoming the senior editor at Car and Driver magazine. Elana has used her unique journalistic voice for numerous car magazines and websites, covering classics, car culture, technology, motorsports, and new-car reviews. In addition to her life as an automotive storyteller, she and her husband collect cars and recently co authored a book together.

She’s a witty, smart, passionate automotive journalist, author and wrench turner. She shares her story, her challenges, the challenges facing the industry, some of her most memorable interviews, and her words of wisdom for the next generation, and keeping going regardless of the roadblocks.
