161. She bought a VW bug and it changed her life!

Guest: Zoe Carmichael - Historic Automotive Restoration student

Zoe Carmichael was working an office job before her classic  VW Bug came into her life.  She quickly fell in love with classic cars and learning how to work on them.  So she rewrote her life.  Quit her office job and enrolled in the auto program at Wake Tech in Raleigh, NC to learn the basics.  That ultimately led her driving her bug across the country to to study Historic Automotive Restoration at McPherson College, the only college in the country that offers the major as a bachelor's degree.

When she's not in class, she works at the Garage, a female-run car museum. She wants to help more women get into the world of classic cars. Zoe is an ambassador for the Jessi Combs Foundation as well as the Piston Foundation and has been featured in Hagerty Drivers Club magazine.
